In the beginning, the very first Anne Wigmore Institute in Boston., MA recruited Dr. David Jubb to be one of its first official scientific advisors. Even though he learned a great deal and contributed tremendously to the emergence and value of the living foods movement, Dr. Jubb felt that there were still opportunities and challenges that needed further analysis and development. Thus a new paradigm shift and nutritional phenomenon was born- Lifefood.
Lifefood, simply stated, is food that has its life force intact. It is presently the greatest and most efficient food source on the planet- one which offers an optimal array of nutrient rich and the most usable, property dense nourishment available for human consumption. It is one of the body’s key sources for ongoing and proper cellular rejuvenation. In other words, it makes for a key aspect of what can be described as the ultimate healing diet. However, this is not to be considered a diet in the conventional and modern sense of the word, as Lifefood is to be embraced more so as a lifestyle change that empowers us to make more common sense and better choices. Furthermore, by opening up a perspective to such awareness, it lends itself and leads us to uphold a system that will enable us to create a more sustainable future for our planet.
Lifefood is food that has the ability to eco sterilize itself and is the closest semblance to food growing in the wild on the earth. Its fundamental principle comes from the ideal that as a species we were naturally created and were always meant to excel primarily as frugavores.
A frugavore, if one carefully studies the beautiful science of Somatotyping, is a species that has evolved to ingest, digest, assimilate, and properly eliminate food that comes from the body of a flower. Therefore, the essence of Lifefood consists of such a concept and “flowers” upon the consumption of fruits, wild honey, pollen, super food/ super herbs, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and some sea vegetation. In addition, to further elaborate on this concept of being a frugavore, one must include, that such nourishment comes to us naturally in its whole organic form, untouched by anything other than nature- that is, in its uncooked, unprocessed, and properly combined state. Therefore, it is food that has a limitless supply of enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other life giving nutrients- food that allows us to not only have an adequate acid/ alkaline environment and balance within our temples (bodies), but also permits our organisms to have the ability to create symbiotic relationships within ourselves that make for good living.
Within this Lifefood paradigm, there is hardly any room for starch or runaway sugars. These elements are found primarily in substances such as corn, grains of any kind, rice, beans, carrots, beets, dates, banana, pineapple, any hybrid food or cashews. In other words, food substances that hardly have any ability survive without the intervention of man or modern agriculture- a subspecies of real food if you will. Moreover, these are all elements that are very acid and mucus forming and carry an excess amount of inflammatory properties & strange indigestible proteins. In a nutshell, they are quite counterproductive to one’s health and greatly lack life force.
Consequently, if one were to engage in the study of botany, one can also come to the conclusion that seeds such as buckwheat or botanically classified as rutabaga seed, quinoa, millet, and amaranth are often wrongly classified as grains. Being that this is a common misconception, these grains are actually wild seed meant to be sprouted and thus incorporated as incredible life giving food.
This ideal, again, not only exemplifies an optimal state of nutrition, but also builds on the premise that Lifefood is for a sustainable future. It therefore offers an alternative perspective and a more positive outlook of food. In many ways it builds beyond current agricultural & lifestyle practices that are less than optimal. Lifefood does not involve the clear cutting of enormous fields for mono cropping that destroys our natural resources with an ineffective amount of yield. On the contrary, it promotes a focus on the concept of “flower-fication.” This is a term that has been purposely created in order to exemplify an ideal relationship with nature. It is a bond that is hoped to be based and executed with the (re)creation of more shade (tree planting) on earth. Thus it helps to replenish the earth’s natural cycle and in such a way allows our rivers & streams to once again rise from the ground properly in its natural living flow. This profoundly helps to restructure the ecosystem and the earth’s biological terrain.
Finally, LifeFood is an essential tool meant to fit perfectly with other health practices such as with exercise, achieving emotional stability, a clearer mind & body, and a more renowned sense of love and compassion. All these forces together make for a dis-ease free and longer life. It is a force that is meant to promote an optimal representation of what can be a much longer healthier lifestyle and a more sustainable future for generations to come.
